Description
The MXR M82 Bass Envelope Filter is a dedicated auto-wah for low end, giving you that classic quacky, vocal-like sweep without swallowing your fundamental. Instead of fighting a filter that eats your bottom octave, this pedal lets you blend — separate Dry and Effect knobs mean you can push the filtered signal as hard as you want while keeping the direct low end intact underneath it, so the funk stays punchy rather than thin.
Shaping the sweep is straightforward: Decay and Q controls carve everything from a slow, smooth wah pulse to a sharp, resonant quack, and the Sensitivity knob adapts the pedal to your playing dynamics and to passive or active bass output. On the board, it sits in the Phase 90-size aluminum enclosure MXR is known for — small footprint, real estate-friendly, and tough enough for the road.
True-bypass switching keeps your tone unaffected when the effect is off, and the power circuitry is built to shrug off wrong-polarity or over-voltage accidents, which matters when you’re swapping pedals on a crowded board mid-gig. Runs on a Dunlop ECB003 AC adapter or a single 9V battery (neither included).
