The Xotic BB Plus takes the beloved BB Preamp circuit and doubles down, splitting it into two independently voiced channels that can run alone or stacked together. Drop it early in your chain and it behaves less like a pedal and more like an extension of your guitar’s own voice — transparent enough to disappear, characterful enough to matter.
- Channel A carries the DNA of the original BB Preamp: an open, amp-like push with harmonically rich complexity that fattens single coils and adds girth to humbuckers without smearing note definition.
- Channel B is built purely for boost duty — arguably the most flexible clean/dirty boost in the Xotic line. Every knob position lands somewhere musical, whether you’re nudging a solo forward or slamming your amp’s front end.
- A single footswitch engages both channels simultaneously, letting you stack their gain stages for tones that range from subtly enhanced to fully saturated, amp-pushing overdrive.
For pedalboard builders, the BB Plus earns its real estate by covering multiple roles: always-on tone shaper, solo boost, and drive stage in one compact enclosure. Placement is flexible — up front for a cleaner push into a dirty amp, or after your gain pedals to add harmonic glue and volume.
