Description
Bassists who need more than one tone locked to a single footswitch will find a real workhorse in the SansAmp Programmable Bass Driver DI. Built on the same analog circuitry that made the single-channel original a studio and stage staple, this version gives you three independent channels for storing entirely different flavors of drive, EQ, and blend — punchy for verses, saturated for choruses, clean DI for the acoustic set, all one tap away.
Dialing in tones is refreshingly hands-on: adjust Drive, Bass, Treble, Presence, Blend and Level until the sound sits right, double-tap the footswitch, and that setting is committed to the channel. No menus, no editing software — just knobs and your ears, with digital programmability doing the memory work behind the scenes.
On the board, it works as both a tone-shaping preamp and a direct injection box, so you can send a consistent, amp-like signal straight to a mixer or interface without relying on a miked cabinet. It’s noticeably larger than the standard SansAmp pedals but still gig-bag friendly at 7.25″L x 5.25″W x 2.25″H, and despite full metal construction it only weighs about 25oz — light enough to shuttle between rooms without complaint.
