Description
Built on the same all-analog SansAmp circuit as the original YYZ, the Shape-shifter version gives Geddy Lee’s signature bass tone two extra gears. A stomp-switchable Boost stage pushes 12dB of presence into the top end for cutting, driven leads, while the Shape-shifter footswitch layers in an additional 6dB that Geddy himself describes only as “Schmegilka” — his word for an unquantifiable extra dose of character. Same core sound, more ways to push it.
Cosmetically it breaks from the sold-out MP40 limited edition, adopting the graphics and color scheme shared across Geddy’s other Signature gear — the GED-2112 rack unit, DI-2112 desktop box, and single-switch YYZ pedal — so it visually matches the rest of the lineup.
- Mix knob blends clean studio-DI tone against warm, dirty tube-amp character
- Tight switch tightens up note definition on clean settings and adds snap to distorted tones
- Drive control, active 3-band EQ, and Master Volume for full tonal shaping
- Boost stomp switch: +12dB presence for top-end distortion
- Shape-shifter stomp switch: +6dB
