Description
Keeley took the familiar Vox 847 chassis and rebuilt its guts for players who want more than one wah voice out of a single housing. This is the shop’s first Vox mod to run dual inductors, giving you a toe-switch choice between a light, cutting Mello Wah tone and a full, powerful Funk Wah response. Flip it right for high-headroom funk and heavy blues territory; flip it left for a thinner, more surgical sweep. Both inductors are genuine Dunlop Fasels — a red one and a red/yellow pair wired in parallel — so the two settings aren’t just louder/quieter, they’re genuinely different flavors.
A second toggle on the right side adds a three-position bass and resonance booster. Center is stock wah character; the flanking positions push the low end and resonance in two distinct directions, letting you chase anything from SRV-style grit to Clapton-esque sweetness to Hendrix-flavored snarl. Next to it sits a Midrange/Volume control: fully counter-clockwise keeps things close to stock, while dialing it up layers in extra midrange punch and output level.
Keeley also addressed the wah’s usual tone-suck complaint, so your signal stays intact when the pedal’s off — no more chasing a mysteriously thin tone only to find the wah quietly engaged. A rear-mounted blue LED makes on/off status obvious at a glance, and a rubber-dampened stomp switch keeps footswitch noise out of quiet studio takes. Housed in the rugged stock Vox enclosure and wired true bypass.
