The LR Baggs Session DI takes the console tricks from LR Baggs’ Handcrafted Video Sessions and packs them into a single box that lives right at the end of your acoustic signal chain, before the snake or amp. Drop it at the tail of your board or run it standalone as your DI, and it does the heavy lifting an engineer would normally handle in post.
Two studio moves, built into the pedal: Analog Saturation adds warmth and harmonic glue voiced specifically for acoustic pickups, so strummed chords feel rounder instead of brittle or piezo-thin. Comp EQ then splits compression into three narrow bands (low, mid, high) that react to your dynamics in real time — dig in harder and those bands compress more, ease off and they relax, taming the honky mids and boomy lows that plague pickup tone without squashing the whole signal.
Beyond the tone-shaping duo, you get a Garret Null notch filter for killing resonant feedback frequencies, a variable high-pass filter to cut unwanted low-end rumble, and a VU meter that lets you dial in correct gain staging for either passive or active pickups. A ground lift switch handles hum from ground loops, and the all-discrete signal path feeds both XLR and 1/4″ outputs simultaneously.
