Slot it after your bass into the front of your signal chain, ahead of drive or modulation, and it’ll tighten up your low end without flattening the personality out of your tone. Constant Headroom Technology keeps the circuit clean even when you’re digging in hard, so slap accents and heavy fingerstyle passages stay controlled instead of choked.
What sets the M87 apart on a pedalboard is the level of hands-on control it hands back to you. Attack and release shape how the compression responds to your playing, ratio dials in how aggressively it clamps down, and separate input/output controls let you match gain staging to whatever’s next in your chain. A row of ten gain-reduction LEDs gives you a real-time readout of exactly how much compression is being applied, so dialing in settings by ear or by eye is equally easy, even on a dark stage.
The housing is aluminum, tough enough for touring but light enough that it won’t weigh down your board, and the footprint is small enough to fit alongside your other effects without a fight. True bypass keeps the M87 out of your signal path entirely when it’s off, so your tone stays exactly as your bass and amp intended.
