Description
The Alpha·Omicron packs two independent distortion engines into a single bass preamp, giving you a much wider tonal palette than a typical single-circuit overdrive. Rather than committing to one flavor of grit, you can select or blend between Alpha’s tight, punchy attack and Omega’s brutal, raw saturation — dialing in exactly how aggressive your low end gets.
A dedicated Blend control keeps your clean signal at unity gain while the Level knob shapes the volume of the overdriven side, so you can layer distortion over your natural tone instead of replacing it outright. The Drive knob governs how much gain feeds that overdriven signal, and the Mod control moves between the two distortion circuits (or mixes them together) for everything from subtle edge to full-on crush.
Two toggle switches let you fine-tune the voicing on the fly:
- Bite — boosts high mids around 2.8kHz for extra presence and note definition, useful for cutting through dense arrangements.
- Growl — adds a shelving bass boost for a fatter low end and more saturated bottom.
Built compact at 11.3×7.5 cm (4.45×2.95 in), it’s an easy addition to a crowded bass board without hogging real estate.
Power draw is 20mA, and this pedal requires a regulated 9V DC adapter with a center-negative plug — no battery option for ecological reasons. Stick to regulated power at the correct voltage; unregulated supplies or higher voltages can degrade noise performance and risk damaging the unit, which would void the warranty.
