Description
The EHX Bass Micro Synth turns your bass into a fully analog synthesizer, built specifically to track low-end frequencies without losing definition. At its core is a 4-voice mixer that blends Sub Octave, straight Guitar (dry) signal, Octave up, and Square Wave — each voice dialed in independently so you can land anywhere between subby reinforcement and a snarling, fuzzed-out growl reminiscent of vintage 1970s synth-bass tones.
The Square Wave voice deserves special mention: crank it and it doubles as a raw distortion tone, giving the pedal a second life as a gritty overdrive when you don’t need the full synth treatment. Pair it with the Attack Decay control to fade notes in slowly for bowed, cello-like swells, or snap them in for percussive stabs.
Where this pedal really opens up is the Filter Sweep section. A 3-pole analog resonant filter with independent start and stop frequency sliders and an adjustable rate lets you sculpt sweeps in either direction — fast high-to-low chops for rhythmic movement, or slow low-to-high blooms for ambient textures. The resonance control adds extra bite or squelch to those sweeps for a more vocal, synth-like character.
Housed in a tough die-cast chassis built for pedalboard duty, the Bass Micro Synth runs true bypass so your dry tone stays untouched when the effect is off. A power adapter is included.
