Description
Two amp heads, one cabinet, zero compromise — that’s the job the Radial Headbone VT was built for. Designed specifically for pairing two valve-tube heads, it lets you dial in a warm rhythm amp and a saturated lead amp, then switch between them instantly without ever touching a cable. Class-A discrete circuitry keeps your tone pure, and you can choose direct or buffered inputs depending on how much cable run you’re dealing with before the pedal.
Under the hood, Headbone VT handles the switching sequence digitally: relays, photocells and load resistors work together so that when you hit the footswitch, the signal moves to the other amp, the speaker briefly disconnects to a load resistor, then reconnects — all in a fraction of a second, protecting both heads from damaging transients. SafeMode is a nice bit of insurance too: if power ever drops, the unit defaults back to Head-1-to-cabinet so your amp is never left running without a load.
Setup is straightforward — guitar or FX chain into the direct or buffered input, each amp head connected via standard 1/4″ cables to the AMP-1 and AMP-2 jacks, speaker returns wired back in with quality speaker cable, then a single line out to your cab. For pedalboard players, the built-in Slingshot remote system means you can keep all the amp and cabinet cabling short and tidy in the backline, running just a simple footswitch cable up to your board to trigger the switch from wherever you’re standing.
