Description
The HotShot DM1 solves a problem every gigging vocalist knows: needing to say something to a bandmate or monitor engineer without the whole room hearing it. Step on the momentary footswitch and the mic instantly cuts out of the main PA feed and redirects to a dedicated monitor output instead — perfect for calling out a set change, flagging a level issue, or troubleshooting mid-song without broadcasting the conversation to the audience.
It’s a passive, purpose-built unit for dynamic microphones, wired with a single XLR input, a ‘main’ XLR output to the front-of-house system, and a ‘monitor’ XLR output feeding the monitor desk. The monitor engineer can then route that signal wherever it’s needed — musician wedges, in-ears, or the tech crew’s headset — while the main PA stays clean. A ground lift is included to knock out hum from ground loops, and the unit can also toggle between two mic channels, with or without effects, giving a bit of extra routing flexibility beyond simple muting.
Built the way Radial builds all of its stage switchers, the DM1 uses 14-gauge steel construction, a baked enamel finish, and heavy-duty isolated XLR jacks and switch — hardware meant to survive being stomped on night after night on tour.
