Built with direct input from Allan Holdsworth himself, this signature pedal solves a very specific problem: how to keep a personal, singing tone intact while fighting through loud backline rigs. Rockett answered with two circuits in one enclosure — a gentle, touch-sensitive overdrive and a highly flexible boost — that can run independently or be cascaded together for serious gain.
On its own, the drive side stays polite and dynamic, shaped by dedicated Volume, Gain, Bass, and Treble knobs that only interact with the OD circuit when run alone. The boost side is where the tone-shaping gets interesting: a Boost level control works alongside six voicing switches — L (low emphasis), H (high emphasis), F (full boost), C (clean boost), and T (treble boost) — letting you dial in everything from a transparent volume push to an aggressive EQ-tilted kick.
Feed the boost into the drive, though, and the two sides start talking to each other. Suddenly those boost-side switches and controls reshape the overdrive itself, opening up scorching, saturated gain tones well beyond what either circuit could do alone. Rockett labels the faceplate clearly by section, so it’s easy to keep track of which controls affect which circuit — a small detail that matters once you start stacking.
