Description
LED Boots doesn’t chase generic crunch — it’s a tribute pedal aimed squarely at the vintage Marshall snarl that Phil Brown coaxed out of his amps, filtered through a nod to Jeff Beck’s phrasing. Rather than a single-flavor OD, J. Rockett gives you two distinct circuits sharing one enclosure: a smooth, articulate overdrive with real harmonic depth and punch, plus a boost side that delivers chime and push you won’t find on a typical clean boost. Run either independently, or cascade them together for a stacked, amp-like feel that reacts to your pick attack the way a cranked tube head does.
Each side gets its own EQ shaping so you can dial in exactly how the two interact:
- Drive — sets grit/overdrive amount on the OD side, and shapes the grind when cascaded with the boost
- Level — OD side output, also feeds the combined volume when both circuits run together
- Bass — adds low-end fatness to the OD side or the cascaded signal
- Treble — dials in brightness/presence for the OD alone or in combination with boost
- Boost Sw — switches between boost-only operation and boost cascaded into the OD
- “V” — boost volume, or its contribution to overall output when stacked
- “T” — boost chime control, standalone or cascaded
Housed in a compact 4.75″ x 3″ enclosure with true bypass switching, LED Boots runs on a 9V battery or the standard BOSS-style negative-tip 9V adapter (5.5mm x 2.1mm jack, positive on the sleeve). Plugging in external power auto-disconnects the battery — unplug the input jack when not in use to save battery life. A natural fit anywhere in your drive stack where you want vintage Marshall breakup with room to push harder.
