The WTF Fuzz, designed by Paul Trombetta for J. Rockett Audio Designs, is less a single-flavor fuzz and more a range of textures packed into one box. On the mild end you get a soulful, touch-sensitive overdrive; push further and things get weird fast — random low-octave fuzz artifacts and a peculiar horn-like growl players have nicknamed the “trombone sound.”

- Bypass: Engages the effect, with LEDs indicating both bypass status and boost level.
- EQ switch: A three-way voicing switch in the center of the pedal — right for the darkest, smoothest tone (great with Vox-style amps), left for a neutral voicing suited to Fender and Marshall amps, and middle for the brightest setting, useful for taming dark or high-gain amps.
Place it early in the chain where fuzz circuits like this thrive, and use the EQ switch to match it to whatever amp is downstream rather than reaching for a separate EQ pedal.
Powered by a standard 9V BOSS-type adapter or a single 9V battery via a 5.5mm x 2.1mm jack (center-negative sleeve positive). Plugging in external power automatically disconnects the battery; unplug the input jack when not in use to preserve battery life if you’re not running external power.
