Description
The Descent is Walrus Audio’s answer to players chasing cavernous, otherworldly reverb tones without stacking three separate pedals to get there. It houses three distinct algorithms — Hall, Reverse, and Shimmer — and lets you blend in +1 and -1 octave voices within any of them, so the reverb itself becomes a textural instrument rather than just a wash behind your dry signal.
- Hall mode covers everything from tight room slap to towering, haunted-cathedral tails
- Reverse mode flips playback on its head, shaped further by dedicated pre-delay controls
- Shimmer mode blends dry signal with -1 and +1 octaves for lush, orchestral swells
Eight onboard controls give you deep hands-on shaping of the reverb character, and the pedal’s Fav input (TRS cable required) accepts an auxiliary momentary switch for remote on/off or preset recall — handy if the Descent lives at the back of a packed board and you’d rather keep a small SPST switch up front. An expression pedal input (compatible with most standard expression pedals) lets you set high/low ranges on parameters and sweep between them with your foot in real time.
Measuring 5 5/8" x 4 5/8" x 1 9/16", the Descent is built for pedalboard duty — Walrus Audio recommends running it (and all their pedals) off an isolated power supply rather than a daisy chain.
