Description
Most pedalboard builders treat phase shift and envelope filtering as separate problems to solve, but the Way Huge Attack Vector Smalls argues they belong side by side. A center toggle switch lets you run the phaser alone for classic sweeping motion, the envelope filter alone for touch-sensitive quack, or both stacked together for a thicker, more animated voice than either circuit delivers solo.
The envelope side hands you Range and Sensitivity knobs, so you can tune exactly how aggressively the filter reacts to your pick attack or finger dynamics — from a subtle wobble to a pronounced auto-wah-style bark. On the phaser side, Speed and Feedback controls shape everything from a slow, glassy shimmer to a heavier, more resonant whoosh with pronounced peaks.
Because the two effects can be combined, the Attack Vector opens up tonal territory that’s hard to reach with single-purpose pedals — think phase-drenched envelope textures or filtered phase sweeps that shift and breathe as you play. It works equally well in front of a drive stage for added movement or later in the chain for a more ambient, synth-like character. An LED indicator keeps you oriented on a dark stage, and true bypass switching means the pedal stays out of the way completely when it’s off.
