The Xotic BB Preamp earned its reputation on pedalboards for one reason: it does far more than its small enclosure suggests. Push the gain low and it acts as a transparent clean boost, delivering over 30dB of headroom to wake up your amp’s front end. Dial it up and a pre-gain stage takes over, shifting the voice into smooth, compressed overdrive territory that thickens single notes and chords alike without turning harsh.
What sets the BB apart is its active two-band EQ, offering up to 15dB of boost or cut. This lets you sculpt harmonic content on the fly — tighten low end for rhythm work, add air and sparkle to leads, or carve a midrange push to cut through a dense mix. Because of this flexibility, it works equally well as an always-on tone shaper at the front of your chain or as a dedicated drive stacked before other pedals.
Each unit is hand-wired and hand-crafted in the U.S.A., with true bypass switching so your tone stays untouched when the pedal is off. Power it with a 9V battery or an optional negative-tip AC adapter (regulated supply recommended).
