Description
Volume pedals live or die by two things: how transparent they stay and how long the mechanism lasts. Xotic’s Low Impedance 25K Volume Pedal tackles both. Instead of the string-and-pulley setup found in older designs (which stretches, slips, and eventually snaps), this one uses a nylon pivot bushing paired with a rack-and-pinion gear system. The result is a smooth, consistent sweep underfoot that holds up to years of gigging without the mid-set surprise of a busted string.
Tonally, the high-quality audio potentiometer is chosen to preserve your frequency spectrum through the full sweep, so you get real volume control rather than a tone-sucking dip as you roll back. That makes it equally at home for pedal-steel-style swells, clean volume knob riding, or as a dedicated boost/cut in a more complex chain — place it early for dynamics control, or later for a master volume before your amp.
Every unit is 100% hand-wired with cloth-covered wiring inside a die-cast aluminum enclosure finished in red hammertone. That enclosure is roughly two-thirds the footprint of a typical volume pedal, so it slots onto tight pedalboards or travel rigs where space is at a premium without sacrificing durability. A tuner output is included for silent tuning on the fly.
