Reinhold Bogner shrank the beloved Blue channel of his Ecstasy amp into a footprint that actually fits a pedalboard, without gutting what makes it special. You still get that unmistakable blue-channel character — vintage Plexi chime on the low end of the gain control, snarling rock crunch as you push it, and real amp-like touch sensitivity that responds to how hard you dig in.
Internally, Bogner’s circuitry steps the 9VDC supply up to a much higher internal voltage, which is what gives this pedal its wide dynamic headroom and tube-amp feel rather than the flatter compression typical of stompbox overdrives. Note that it runs on external 9VDC power only — there’s no battery compartment.
The control set is genuinely amp-like: active Bass, Middle, and Treble EQ sit alongside Gain and Volume, plus a bottom-mounted trim pot to shift the mid frequency range up or down for scooped or honky voicings. The Variac switch dials in a sagged,
