Description
Acoustic pickups need different handling than magnetic ones, and the AFX Pro EQ Mini is built around that fact. Descended from Fishman’s Platinum series preamps, it puts a high-impedance instrument preamp first in line to properly condition your acoustic signal — passive or active — before any tone shaping happens.
- 5-band EQ voiced for acoustic instruments: bass, mid, treble, and brilliance controls plus a sweepable Low Cut for dialing thump and sub-frequencies in or out
- Feedback-Fighting Phase Control to knock down stage-volume howl without gutting your tone
- Switchable bypass modes: true bypass, buffered bypass, or mute — pick what suits your rig
- Dual Path Routing lets two AFX Minis share a single TRS “stereo” cable run, each set to Tip or Ring to form independent effect chains
- Compact enclosure that tucks onto crowded acoustic boards without a fight
- Runs on external 9V power (not included)
Place it near the front of your acoustic chain, right after your pickup or DI, to correct the honky midrange and thin low end that raw piezo signals are prone to. The Low Cut sweep is especially handy for controlling boom on dreadnoughts and jumbos, while the phase switch earns its keep the moment you’re playing loud enough to fight your own monitors. Between the flexible bypass options and Dual Path Routing, it’s a small pedal that solves a handful of real acoustic-stage problems at once.
