Description
The BBE Acoustimax is built for the acoustic player who needs their pedalboard to double as a mini front-of-house rig. At its core sits BBE’s Sonic Maximizer processing — a Lo Contour boost around 50Hz and a Process lift near 10kHz that restore punch and air often lost through pickup systems, without the smeared, artificial edge of a standard EQ boost.
Beyond the maximizer, you get a genuine 3-band EQ with a sweepable mid/low notch filter for chasing down feedback frequencies live, plus phase reversal and ground lift for taming hum and phase cancellation issues on stage. The signal routing is where this pedal earns its place at the front of an acoustic chain: a switchable pre/post DI output with pad feeds the board cleanly, a dedicated tuner out keeps your tuning silent, a TRS effects loop lets you patch in modulation or reverb, and a line-level out handles amp or interface duties.
- 3-band EQ with sweepable mid/low notch filter
- BBE Sonic Maximizer processing (Lo Contour + Process)
- Phase reversal and ground lift switches
- Pre/post switchable DI output with pad
- Dedicated tuner out and TRS effects loop
- Line-level output
- True hardwire bypass
- Non-slip rubber base for secure pedalboard mounting
- Included 12V power supply
With a frequency response of 50Hz–20kHz, up to ±12dB of EQ shaping across bass, mid, and treble bands, and low noise floor (-98dBv at the instrument jack), the Acoustimax is equally at home running direct to a mixer or gigging into a DI-equipped amp. It’s the kind of utility pedal that quietly solves most of the problems acoustic players run into on stage.
