Description
For acoustic guitarists tired of that thin, quacky piezo sound, the Fishman Aura Spectrum DI sits at the end of your board and does the heavy lifting of translating pickup output into something that sounds like a well-placed studio mic. Its Aura Acoustic Imaging engine layers your instrument’s natural pickup signal with modeled mic characteristics, giving you air and body without feeding back at volume.
Built into a rugged all-metal chassis, this unit is less a stompbox and more a full acoustic tone station. A three-band EQ and single-knob compressor let you tighten up the low end and smooth out pick attack, while the automatic anti-feedback circuit — with up to three adjustable notches — keeps howling monitors at bay on loud stages. A feedback-fighting phase switch and automatic ground lift on the balanced XLR D.I. output round out the noise-fighting toolkit.
On board you’ll find 128 pre-loaded acoustic instrument images covering the most common flat-tops and hollow bodies, plus 16 user-configurable slots for importing custom images via USB and the included Aura Image Gallery software. Blend and Image Select knobs make dialing in your pickup-to-image mix quick during a soundcheck, and a built-in chromatic tuner with mute lets you tune silently between songs.
Whether it lives at the end of a full acoustic pedal chain or works as a standalone preamp/DI into the PA, the Aura Spectrum delivers a far more natural stage and studio tone than a raw piezo signal alone.
