Description
Built for the acoustic player who wants one box to handle preamp, tone shaping, and stage-worthy DI duties, the Fishman ToneDEQ AFX keeps your instrument’s voice intact while adding just the shine you want. The core signal runs fully analog from input to output, so the natural character of your acoustic isn’t diluted by digital processing — even the built-in effects are blended in parallel, never inserted directly into the dry path.
At the front end sits a discrete Class A JFET preamp with a 10mOhm high-impedance input, tailored for passive pickups that need clean, uncolored gain before anything else happens to the signal. From there, a 4-band EQ (Bass, Middle, Treble, plus a switchable Low Cut) lets you dial out the boom common to piezo pickups and sculpt a mix-ready tone. A soft-knee compressor smooths out picking dynamics, and a footswitchable boost adds up to 9dB when a solo section needs to cut through.
For effects, you get your choice of two Reverbs, two Delays, dual Chorus, plus Flanger or Tremolo — enough texture options to cover most acoustic gig scenarios without a separate pedal. A selectable phase inverter helps tame feedback on loud stages, and the fully balanced DI section offers automatic ground-lift and pre/post EQ routing alongside a standard 1/4″ amp output.
