Description
The Platinum Stage is Fishman’s ground-up rebuild of its stage preamp, aimed at acoustic guitarists, mandolin players, fiddlers, and anyone plugging a piezo or magnetic acoustic pickup into a signal chain that needs to stay honest. Rather than coloring your instrument’s natural voice, the discrete 17-volt Class-A circuit runs with high headroom so quiet passages and hard strumming both come through clean, with none of the grit or compression you’d get from a lesser gain stage.
Fishman’s familiar tone-center EQ returns with a sweepable mid control, letting you dial into the exact frequency causing feedback or muddiness on a given stage rather than settling for a fixed mid point. A switchable EQ mode reshapes the curve specifically for bass instruments, so upright players and acoustic bassists get a preamp that actually understands low-end behavior instead of a guitar-voiced EQ stretched to cover it.
Placement is flexible: a phase invert switch tames feedback next to monitors, a low-cut filter clears out boominess before it hits the mix, and a boost switch with dedicated level control gives you an instant volume jump for solos without touching the main gain staging. The balanced XLR D.I. output can be tapped pre- or post-EQ and includes auto ground lift, so you can send a clean signal to the board while your 1/4″ output feeds an acoustic amp on stage.
Runs on a 9-volt battery (rated 70 hours), 48-volt phantom power, or the optional Fishman 910-R adapter — power flexibility that matters when you’re switching stages mid-set. A belt clip is included for players who perform standing without a pedalboard nearby.
