Description
The PS-6 Harmonist packs four distinct pitch engines into one BOSS-tough enclosure, letting you build harmony parts, thicken tone, or dive into wild bend effects without swapping pedals mid-set. Harmony mode does the theory work for you: pick a key, choose major or minor, and dial in 2- or 3-voice stacking with the SHIFT knob for instant duets and trios that track your playing musically rather than mechanically.
Switch to Detune and the PS-6 spreads your signal wide with three subtly pitched voices layered against the dry note — a natural chorus-like thickness that’s especially useful for solos or clean rhythm parts that need more presence without added modulation warble. Pitch Shifter mode opens up interval options like octave-up-plus-fifth-below, handy for arpeggiated lines or doubling riffs an octave apart.
Then there’s Super Bend (S-BEND), the pedal’s signature trick: adjustable Rise and Fall times sweep pitch across a full 7-octave span, from -3 to +4 octaves, mimicking extreme pedal-steel-style bends on demand. Run it under the toe with the internal knob, or hand off real-time control to an optional expression pedal (BOSS FV-500L/H or Roland EV-5) for expressive swells on the fly.
Inside is BOSS’s high-power DSP, tuned specifically to render layered harmonies cleanly rather than mushy or artificial — a meaningful step up from earlier pitch pedals in this class. It ships in the standard BOSS compact chassis, built for pedalboard abuse and backed by a 5-year warranty.
