Description
The Seymour Duncan Scooped Strat bridge pickup takes the underwound 50’s-style formula and pushes the pole height up slightly, digging a deliberate notch out of the midrange. What’s left is a pickup that leans hard into the top and bottom end while the mids sit back out of the way — a voicing built for players who want one pickup to cover ground from raw, singing Texas blues to the glassy, pop-rock clean tones on the other end of the spectrum.
For pedalboard builders, that scooped midrange matters more than it might seem. Drive and fuzz circuits often pile up their own mid content, and a pickup that isn’t already crowding that same frequency range gives those pedals room to work without turning to mush. Same goes for amps voiced with prominent mids — this pickup balances against them instead of fighting them, so overdrives, boosts, and fuzzes up front in the chain translate with more clarity and separation.
Loaded with an Alnico 5 magnet, it delivers the rounded warmth and moderate output typical of vintage-style Strat pickups, with cloth push-back cabling for a period-correct build and easy soldering.
