The Sonic Stomp takes BBE’s legendary 482i Sonic Maximizer processing and packs it into a pedalboard-friendly stompbox, so you get the same definition-enhancing treatment without the rack space. Drop it near the front of your chain, ahead of drive and modulation, and let it sharpen pick attack, tighten low-end, and pull vocal-range frequencies out of a muddy mix — useful whether you’re running guitar, bass, keys, or an acoustic-electric direct into the board.
Two knobs do the work: Lo Contour reinforces low frequencies without turning them boomy, while Process adds high-end sparkle and presence. Because the Sonic Maximizer works on phase and frequency relationships rather than simple EQ boosting, the effect reads as more open and three-dimensional rather than just louder or brighter. A true hard-wire bypass keeps your tone untouched when the pedal is off.
