Where you place it in the chain changes its personality. Early, ahead of gain stages, it feeds distortion and fuzz with pitch-shifted harmonics that saturate in unpredictable, musical ways. Later in the chain, after modulation and drive, it behaves more like a studio pitch effect — cleaner, more surgical, easier to blend under a mix. Either way, the expression treadle puts real-time control under your foot, letting you sweep between voices instead of just switching them.
With 10 Whammy settings, 9 Harmony settings, and 2 Detune settings, it covers everything from screaming solo leads to ambient chordal bends and tight octave-up/down doubling.
