Description
The Rotovibe JD4S is Dunlop’s take on the rotary-speaker-inspired modulation that shaped decades of psychedelic and blues-rock tone. A simple toggle lets you flip between two distinct voices: a thick, swirling chorus for ambient washes, or a pulsing vibrato that leans into pitch-wobble drama reminiscent of classic Uni-Vibe recordings. Instead of a knob, speed is dialed in with a foot treadle, so you can push the modulation faster during a solo or ease it back for verses without breaking stride or reaching down.
Built into a rugged housing weighing in at 4 lbs, this pedal is made to survive life on a busy board — stomped on, toured with, and left running night after night. A visible LED tracks the modulation rate in real time, giving you a quick visual reference for where the effect sits before you even hit a note, which is handy when you’re dialing in a sound under stage lights.
Placement-wise, the Rotovibe likes to sit after your gain stages — right where a fuzz or overdrive would love a little swirling motion on top. It also plays well early in a wet/dry rig if you’re chasing a more three-dimensional, rotating-speaker illusion.
