Description
Most wahs give you one voice. The Xotic XW-1 gives you a whole vocabulary. Rooted in the vintage 1967-68 Italian Clyde McCoy circuit that players chase for its vocal, throaty sweep, the XW-1 goes further by putting real tone-shaping control at your feet — Bias, Wah-Q, and a two-band EQ let you dial in everything from a cold, glassy, transparent sweep to a warmer, bass-heavy honk with a more pronounced peak.
- Self-lubricating nylon bushing pivot keeps the pedal quiet and smooth, with fully adjustable rocker tension
- Gold contact relay true bypass — transparent tone with a rated 1,000,000+ switching life
- Compact chassis, roughly 20% smaller footprint than a standard wah, freeing up board space
- Bias control and Wah-Q knob shape sweep character and filter width for vintage-clear or boosted-bass voicings
- +/-15dB center-detent Treble and Bass controls fine-tune the EQ for your rig
- Fuzz-friendly buffered circuit keeps the wah working well ahead of vintage-style fuzz pedals
- Adjustable rubber stopper and pedal torsion nut let you customize treadle travel and feel
- LED lights when active and flashes to warn when battery drops below 50%
Internally, an input gain trim adds up to +6dB of wah boost, relay-based bypass switching keeps things fully true bypass, and DIP switches let you set the resonance frequency range to taste. Runs on a 9VDC battery or a 9VDC (2.1mm, center-negative) power supply.
Because the XW-1’s rubber feet made secure board mounting a hassle, this bundle includes the EWS Wah Board Special. It mounts flush over the original bottom panel with recessed screw holes, eliminating any protruding feet or hardware — so the wah locks onto your board cleanly and stays put, without ever needing to modify the pedal itself.
