Description
Before there was a Robotalk 2, there was this: the pedal that put Xotic Effects on the map for players chasing quacky, talkative envelope tones. The Robotalk RI brings back that original circuit’s most beloved trick — a wild arpeggiator function that guitarists and bassists alike used to turn ordinary lines into rubbery, robotic sequences — but now it’s built into a smaller, pedalboard-friendly enclosure.
Where the Robotalk 2 split things into dual, independently voiced channels for a smoother, more musical envelope response, this reissue circles back to the source. Xotic’s Custom Shop dug into the original design, tightened up its envelope filter character, and pushed the arpeggiator further into mesmerizing, unpredictable territory. Drop it after your drive pedals for a filtered lead tone that still bites, or run it earlier in the chain for a more touch-sensitive, dynamic sweep. Bassists get the same funk-forward snap that made the original a favorite for slap and groove parts.
Simple, road-ready construction keeps it practical: it runs on a single 9V battery or an optional 9VDC negative-tip regulated adapter, and accepts both active and passive unbalanced inputs.
