Description
EHX built the Bass Clone around the same analog circuit that made the Small Clone a modulation staple, then retooled it so bass players don’t have to sacrifice low-end punch for chorus shimmer. Since chorus works by blending a modulated signal with your dry signal, the challenge with bass has always been that modulating low frequencies turns them mushy. The Bass Clone solves this with a Crossover switch that strips low end out of the wet signal path entirely, leaving your fundamental notes clean and articulate while the chorus swirl happens up top.
Two additional controls give you real sound-shaping control: Treble shapes the full blended output, while Bass acts only on the dry half of the signal. Used together with the Crossover switch, this lets you dial in exactly how much low end stays untouched versus how much shimmer washes over your tone—ideal for players who want their root notes to stay locked and defined even with modulation running wide open.
Housed in EHX’s usual tough die-cast enclosure, the Bass Clone runs true bypass so your dry tone stays uncolored when the effect is off—a smart pedal to drop right before your amp or DI at the end of a bass board.
- Analog circuit derived from the Small Clone, adapted specifically for bass frequencies
- Crossover switch removes low end from the modulated signal for a focused, articulate bottom
- Separate Treble (full signal) and Bass (dry signal only) controls for precise tone shaping
- True bypass switching preserves signal integrity when disengaged
- Durable compact die-cast housing
- Runs on included 9V battery, or optional 9.6VDC-200mA adapter (not included)
- Current draw: 15mA
- Dimensions: 4.5 x 2.75 x 2.1 in
