Two Timer is BBE’s take on the classic analog delay circuit, using genuine Bucket Brigade Devices to produce that dark, tape-warm repeat trail rather than a crisp digital echo. What sets it apart on a pedalboard is the second brain built into the same enclosure: a Time1/Time2 footswitch lets you park two completely separate delay settings side by side and jump between them mid-song. Dial in a tight slapback for rhythm chords on Time1, then stomp over to a long, washy trail for lead lines on Time2 — no reaching for a knob mid-solo.
Under the hood, BBE built this one for the road. The circuit board is spec’d to military standards with wide signal traces, and the component choices — 1% metal-film resistors and high-voltage poly caps — are there to keep the tone consistent gig after gig rather than drifting with age or heat. When you bypass it, a true hardwire relay pulls the circuit out of the chain entirely, so your dry tone stays untouched.
For signal-chain placement, treat it like any analog delay: after your drive and modulation pedals, feeding into a clean amp channel keeps the repeats sounding their most natural. The 1MEG Ohms input impedance loads pickups properly, which matters if you’re running it early in the chain or straight after a passive instrument.
