The Nano Bass Big Muff Pi takes the low-end-crushing fuzz that made the Russian Big Muff legendary and squeezes it into EHX’s compact nano chassis, freeing up real estate on crowded bass boards without sacrificing an ounce of the original’s weight or grind.
Signal chain placement is straightforward: run it early in your bass chain and let the Sustain knob push your fuzz from a gritty edge into a wall of harmonically rich saturation. The Tone control shapes where that saturation sits, from dark and woolly to a brighter, more cutting growl, while Volume brings the distorted signal up to match your clean level. Flip the Dry switch and you’ll blend your unaffected bass signal back in at unity level, layering fundamental low-end punch underneath the fuzz so your tone stays defined even at heavier distortion settings — a trick that keeps your low end from disappearing into mush live or in the mix.
Built on a road-ready die-cast chassis with true bypass switching, it stays out of your way tonally when disengaged and holds up to the rigors of touring and rehearsal. A 9V battery is included to get you playing right out of the box, though standard 9V power supply operation is also supported.
