Description
Cable runs and daisy-chained pedals quietly rob your guitar of high end before it ever reaches the amp. The Suhr Buffer exists to stop that theft — a unity-gain buffer/line driver that restores what capacitance takes away without coloring your instrument’s voice or nudging its output level.
Inside the machined billet aluminum enclosure you’ll find low-noise audiophile op-amps and a glass epoxy PCB, built to the same standard Suhr applies to its Badger and Hand Wired amplifiers. It’s a small box made with amp-grade seriousness.
Two independent outputs give it real flexibility on a board. The standard output feeds your rig as normal, while the ISO output runs through a transformer to break ground loops and shed noise when you’re splitting signal to a second amp or source. A 180° phase reversal switch on that ISO output keeps both signal paths locked in phase.
Placement matters: put the Buffer first in your chain for most setups. Running vintage-style fuzzes like a Fuzz Face or Tone Bender? Place the Buffer after them instead, so their finicky interaction with your guitar’s pickups and volume knob stays intact.
