Description
The MEL9 hands you nine of the most evocative Mellotron® tones ever committed to tape, triggered straight from a standard guitar signal. Skip the 13-pin MIDI pickup entirely — just plug in and play. Orchestra, Cello, Strings, Flute, Clarinet, Saxophone, Brass, Low Choir, and High Choir are all on tap, ready to layer under leads or swell beneath ambient passages.
Tracking is where this pedal earns its keep. Bends, slides, dive bombs, hammer-ons — the MEL9 follows your phrasing with genuine polyphonic response, letting you play single lines or full chords without the glitchy lag common to pitch-to-MIDI setups. It’s not limited to six-string duty either: bass players get full tracking down to the open A string, and keyboardists can drive it within its 5-note polyphony and A1–A5 range.
On the pedal itself, independent Effect and Dry volume knobs let you dial in exactly how much Mellotron character sits against your untouched signal, while a dedicated Dry Output ships that unaffected tone at unity gain for parallel routing. The Attack knob shapes how gradually notes bloom in — turn it clockwise for slow, cinematic swells — and Sustain governs how long notes linger after you release, with more clockwise travel stretching out the fade.
