The Q-Tron+ takes EHX’s beloved envelope filter and hands you the keys to its internals. At its core it’s the same touch-sensitive, pick-attack-driven sweep that’s defined funk and synth-guitar tones for decades — but now with a dedicated effects loop wired between the preamp and filter stages. That’s a big deal: drop a fuzz, octave pedal, or delay into the loop and you’re shaping the filtered signal itself rather than just running the Q-Tron in your normal chain, so distortion pedals (which usually kill amplitude envelope) finally play nice with the sweep. Feed a Micro POG or Deluxe Memory Man into the loop and you’re in genuinely new sonic territory.
A new Response switch lets you flip between the original’s snappy, fast-tracking follower and a slower, smoother vowel-like attack — think talking synth versus classic chattering wah. Everything else that made the Q-Tron a pedalboard staple carries over: switchable low-pass, band-pass, and high-pass filter modes, a resonant peak control for dialing Q from subtle hump to screaming spike, hi/lo frequency range switching, up/down sweep direction, and an adjustable gain knob with boost for pushing the filter harder.
