Description
The Spruce Goose takes the beloved Bluesbreaker-style overdrive formula and gives it more headroom, more EQ shaping, and more ways to push the front end. At its core sits a drive circuit known for natural, amp-like breakup that stays articulate even as you dig in harder — great for players who want grit without losing note definition.
The standout feature is the LIFT switch, which toggles between three input gain settings. Think of it as a built-in boost stage: flipping LIFT up drives the front of the circuit harder, thickening the tone into a more compressed, saturated character while keeping the dynamic response and transparency the circuit is known for. Pair that with the GAIN and VOL knobs for precise control over drive amount and output level.
On the tone-shaping side, a TREBLE knob reins in excess top end, while an active BASS knob cuts or boosts low frequencies. That active bass control is particularly handy for single-coil players chasing more girth, or humbucker users who want to tighten up a loose low end before it hits the amp.
Switching is handled by a mechanical relay true bypass footswitch with dual action: tap for standard latching on/off, or press and hold for a momentary hit of extra gain and boost — perfect for punching up a solo or throwing in a burst of chaos mid-song without taking your hands off the guitar.
