Description
The V256 is EHX’s deep dive into vocoding, built for players who want their voice and instrument locked together in one strange, expressive signal. Feed it vocals through the XLR input (phantom power included) and let your guitar or synth carve the tone, or flip the instrument control on for monophonic pitch replacement duty. It’s equally at home on a vocal chain or bolted into a guitar pedalboard as a texture generator.
Vocoder resolution scales from 8 to 256 bands, so you can dial in anything from crunchy, retro robot-speak to smooth, high-definition formant tracking. Gender bender lets you push the character toward male or female emphasis, and three robotic voice modes sit alongside single, major, and minor drones — all with their own pitch control for building sustained, harmonized backdrops under a vocal or lead line.
Reflex Tune brings modern pitch correction into the mix, tightening up vocal intonation in real time without leaving the pedal. A blend control keeps dry and processed signal balanced to taste, transposition handles pitch shifting duties, and nine programmable memory slots let you save your favorite vocoder setups for instant recall between songs.
