BBE went back to a 1967 Class A circuit—the one built around the now-legendary Halo inductor—and rebuilt it from the ground up for the Ben Wah 67. Rather than just cloning the old design, they re-engineered the Halo inductor itself and custom-tuned the potentiometer sweep, chasing the same vocal, throaty tones that defined players like Hendrix, Clapton, and SRV. Every component is hand-wired inside, which matters on a pedal like this: the wah’s character lives in small tolerances, and BBE leaned into that instead of cutting corners with PCB shortcuts.
What sets this one apart on a pedalboard is the Harmony control, a dedicated knob that lets you shape the Q/peak response of the sweep on the fly. Instead of being locked into one fixed vowel-like resonance, you can push it toward a sharper, more vocal peak or smooth it out for a rounder, more musical rock. It’s a small addition that gives you real control over how aggressive or subtle the wah effect feels, without touching the amp or your other pedals.
Built for guitar, bass, or keyboard, this wah uses true hard-wire bypass so your signal stays clean and unaffected when it’s off—an easy win for anyone stacking it with other stompboxes.
