Description
Co-designed with bassist/producer Jon Stockman over 18 months of prototyping in Darkglass’s Helsinki workshop, the Alpha·Omega breaks from the brand’s earlier preamp designs by running fully op-amp based circuitry through two independent distortion paths. Rather than picking one flavor of dirt, you get both — dialed in and blended to taste via the Mod knob.
Alpha delivers a tight, punchy overdrive with plenty of note definition, while Omega goes for raw, brutal saturation. The Mod control lets you sit anywhere between the two, or run either circuit solo, giving this pedal more tonal range than a typical single-circuit bass drive.
Shaping tools include Bite (a 2.8kHz high-mid boost for cut and presence) and Growl (a shelving bass boost for thicker low-end saturation), backed by a fully active 3-band EQ: Bass (±12dB @ 80Hz), Mid (±12dB @ 500Hz), and Treble (±12dB @ 5kHz). Blend keeps your clean signal at unity while the Level knob dials in exactly how much overdrive rides on top, and Drive controls gain going into the circuit.
Routing options add flexibility for stage and studio: a Parallel Output taps a hardwired copy of your clean input signal, while the Direct Output offers a balanced ¼” feed suited to PA systems or mixing consoles.
- Dimensions: 12×10.7 cm (4.72×4.21 in)
