Description
The Microtubes B3K V2 is built for bassists who want overdrive that hits hard without turning to mud. Its CMOS clipping stage delivers a saturation that’s aggressive yet articulate, so your low end stays punchy while the top end cuts through the mix. This pedal doesn’t do polite — it’s made for players who want to dig in and push their tone past clean.
- Level: Sets the output volume of the overdriven signal.
- Drive: Controls how much saturation gets stacked into the signal.
- Blend: Mixes your clean tone (held at unity gain) with the overdriven signal, letting you dial in exactly how much grit sits on top of your natural sound.
- Grunt switch: Three-position control that boosts low-frequency content before it hits the clipping stage — dial in how much bass gets saturated.
- Attack switch: Shapes the treble going into saturation. Boost adds extra clarity and presence up top; Flat leaves the highs untouched; Cut tames excess brightness — handy with fresh strings or tweeter-equipped cabs.
On the board, the B3K V2 works well early in the chain where its Blend control can layer saturation over your core tone, or run further down the line to add final grit before your amp. Compact footprint at 11.3 × 7.5 cm (4.45 × 2.95 in) means it won’t hog space.
Power note: Draws 20mA and requires a regulated 9V DC center-negative adapter. No battery option for ecological reasons. Unregulated supplies or higher voltages can degrade noise performance or damage the unit and void your warranty — stick to the specified power.
