Description
Darkglass built the Super Symmetry to bridge two worlds: the transparency bass players expect from modern compression, and the springy, musical envelope behavior that made old-school studio compressors so beloved. The result sits comfortably anywhere in your chain, tightening up your tone without flattening the life out of it.
- Blend — Mix compressed and dry signal together, so you can back off the effect on the fly without having to re-balance Input and Output for unity gain.
- Input — Functions as your gain stage into the compressor and effectively sets the threshold; push it higher and the circuit compresses harder.
- Attack — Controls how quickly gain reduction kicks in once the threshold is crossed; turning it up speeds up the attack.
- Release — Determines how fast the signal returns to normal after being reduced; higher settings shorten that recovery window.
- Compression — Governs the overall depth of peak reduction.
- Output — Sets final volume coming out of the pedal.
Housed in a compact 12×9.4cm (4.72×3.7 in) enclosure, the Super Symmetry is easy to fit onto a crowded board, whether you’re running it early in the chain to tame a percussive slap attack or later to glue your tone before hitting a drive or preamp.
Power note: This pedal draws 30mA and requires a regulated 9V DC adapter with a center-negative plug — no battery option, by design. Skip unregulated supplies or anything above 9V; they can introduce noise or damage the unit and will void your warranty.
