Description
The EBS MultiComp built its reputation on doing one job exceptionally well: taming dynamics without anyone in the room noticing you’re using a compressor. Drop it into a bass rig or guitar chain and it evens out slap peaks, smooths pick attack, and glues your tone together — all while staying out of the way tonally. It’s earned near-legendary status among EBS players for good reason.
What sets it apart is the choice of compression character. Flip between Normal for straightforward, transparent squeeze; Tubeism for a rounder, tube-like saturation that adds harmonic warmth; or Multi Band mode, which splits the signal and compresses highs and lows independently — ideal for slap bass or anything with a wide dynamic spread across the frequency spectrum.
Dialing it in takes seconds: one knob for Comp/Limit level, one for makeup Gain, and a mode selector. Want deeper control? An Active/Passive switch on the side and an internal trim pot for Threshold let you fine-tune without cluttering the top panel.
This Studio Edition refines the original 1998 design with an optimized signal path, relay-based true bypass switching, overvoltage protection up to 18V, and flexible 9-12V DC power compatibility.
