One footswitch handles record and play duties, so there’s no menu-diving mid-set: step on, capture your idea, step on again, and start stacking overdubs endlessly on top of it.
Under the hood it’s running 24-bit/44.1kHz audio, giving you up to six minutes of clean, high-fidelity recording space. That’s enough headroom to sketch out a full arrangement idea at rehearsal or hold a complete backing track for a live set. Because the recorded audio lives in onboard memory, it survives a power cycle — unplug after the gig, and your loop is still sitting there waiting for you next time you plug in.
The AFX PhraseTransfer app (free from fishman.com) turns the USB connection into a two-way street: drag WAV files off the pedal to your computer for archiving, or drop pre-made backing tracks straight onto the pedal to play along with on stage.
Signal-path flexibility is where the AFX Mini series gets clever. Choose true bypass for a pedal that vanishes from your chain when off, or flip to buffered bypass if you’re running long cable runs. The Dual Path Routing system lets you chain multiple AFX Minis using standard TRS stereo cables, splitting Tip and Ring signals into two completely independent effect paths from a single run of cable — handy for wet/dry setups or parallel routing.
