Description
The Stadium DI came out of necessity: LR Baggs’ own bass-playing engineers wanted a direct box that could handle both immaculate studio transparency and stage-ready grit, so they built one. The all-discrete circuitry inside delivers a clarity that stands up to high-end studio DIs, giving you a foundation clean enough to trust before you even touch a control.
Where it gets interesting is the tone-shaping section. The Growl knob doesn’t act like a typical broadband distortion — it targets the low frequencies specifically, thickening your tone with harmonic saturation while leaving the top end intact. It tracks your playing dynamics closely, so a light touch stays articulate and digging in adds real edge. Hit the Drive button and Growl expands into a full-range overdrive for when you need to push harder.
The 3-band Comp EQ works more like touch-sensitive compression than a static EQ — it responds to how hard you play, smoothing inconsistencies without flattening your feel. The Attack control lets you sweep between warm, muted jazz tones and a punchier, clearer attack, covering a wide range of playing styles.
