Description
The MXR Carbon Copy earned its spot on countless boards by doing one thing brilliantly: analog delay that feels alive. Signal runs through a true bucket-brigade audio path, so every repeat carries that soft, slightly degraded warmth digital delays can’t fake — tight slap-back echoes for country and funk players, or long, swirling trails for anyone chasing a Gilmour-style wash.
Up front you get three straightforward controls — Delay, Mix, and Regen — for dialing in everything from a subtle doubling effect to cascading, self-oscillating feedback. Pop the enclosure open and you’ll find two internal trim pots that let you tailor the width and rate of the built-in modulation, giving the repeats extra chorus-like movement without adding a separate pedal to your chain.
In a signal chain, this sits comfortably in the time-based slot toward the end of your board — after drive and modulation, before or alongside reverb — where its analog character can shape the tail of your tone rather than compete with your gain stages.
- Up to 600ms of delay time, with optional built-in modulation
