Description
Bass players who need amp-in-a-box authority without hauling an actual stack will want the VT Bass DI on their board. It’s the compact sibling of the original VT Bass, shrinking that tower-of-power SVT®-style thump into a small footprint that still hits like a stack of 10-inchers.
- Character control pushes the circuit from chunky flip-top funk into higher-gain growl, right up to the fat, saturated distortion favored by bands like Crimson and King’s X.
- Blend knob lets you mix your raw direct signal with the SansAmp circuitry, so you can keep low-end integrity while layering in grit.
- Bite switch adds a presence boost and subsonic filtering for extra punch on top and control down low.
Signal-chain placement is flexible by design: three outputs — 1/4-inch, XLR, and Parallel — mean you can run direct to a PA, feed a power amp, and record simultaneously without extra splitters. The included manual offers dial-in starting points such as SVT®-style, Fat Tube, Flip Top-style, Rage, Thumpy Funk, Fuzzed out, Warm Compression, and Yes-style, giving you a fast route from clean thump to dirty, earthquaking rumble.
Power it via XLR phantom power, a 9V alkaline battery (not included), or an optional Tech 21 DC4-A supply (the discontinued DC2 also works). Whether it’s your only preamp for a gig bag session or a DI stage in a larger board, the VT Bass DI stays massive-sounding at every setting.
