Description
The VT Bass Deluxe takes Tech 21’s classic SansAmp preamp/DI circuit and adds programmable memory, so you’re not stuck re-dialing knobs between songs or basses. The signal path stays 100% analog—all the warmth, grit, and low-end character SansAmp is known for—while a digital brain handles storing and recalling your settings.
Six program locations give you serious flexibility for pedalboard duty. Run two basses into the dual inputs and assign three custom presets to each, or dedicate all six slots to a single instrument for a full spread of tones, from clean and vintage-warm through overdriven and outright crushing distortion. There’s also a programmable FX loop, letting a chosen effect kick in automatically whenever you hit a specific preset.
Setup is refreshingly hands-on: turn the knobs until it sounds right, double-click the footswitch, and that tone is locked into the channel—no manual required, no menu diving mid-set. It’s the kind of unit you can tweak in soundcheck and trust completely once the show starts.
