Tonally, it draws from the same well as the original VT Bass: that unmistakable tower-of-power growl associated with stacks of 10-inch speakers. Dial it back for chunky, flip-top funk tones, or push it toward higher gain territory for indie rock snarl. Turning up the Character control unlocks a fatter, saturated distortion reminiscent of Crimson and King’s X.
Two key controls shape the DI stage: a Blend knob balances your clean signal against the SansAmp circuitry, while a Bite switch adds a presence boost paired with a subsonic filter for tightening up the low end. Together they let you move from a clean SVT-style thump to a dirty, ground-shaking rumble – and everything sounds massive along the way.
The included manual offers starting points such as SVT-style, Fat Tube, Flip Top-style, Rage, Thumpy Funk, Fuzzed Out, Warm Compression, and Yes-style, giving you a fast path to dialing in decades of vintage bass amp character.
